About Me

Finance has been the foundation of my professional journey — but over time, the way I engage with it has grown far beyond any one role.

Today, my work brings together professional practice, writing, authorship and financial education, shaped by a background spanning finance, taxation and law.

Different disciplines. One evolving journey.

My background spans three disciplines that continue to shape how I work today: finance, taxation and law.

As a Chartered Accountant, I bring a strong grounding in taxation, compliance and documentation. As a Certified Financial Planner, I bring structured, long-term thinking to personal finance and investing. My legal training adds a third lens — useful in situations where documentation, interpretation and financial decisions intersect.

Over time, these strands have come together naturally, allowing me to look at financial matters more holistically rather than through the lens of any one discipline.

One profession. Different expressions.

Today, my work takes several forms.

I work with clients across investments, taxation, compliance and financial organisation. I write about personal finance for newspapers and publications. I participate in television programmes, interviews, podcasts and other financial education initiatives. And, as an author, I explore financial subjects through longer-form writing.

These may appear to be different roles, but they are connected by the same subject at the centre of my work: money and the decisions people make around it.

Money decisions often cluster around moments of change — a first job, a growing family, retirement, a new business, or simply the realisation that one's finances have become more scattered than they would like.

What draws me to this work isn't only the technical side of finance, but the role it can play in helping people become more aware, prepared and organised when making decisions that genuinely affect their lives.

And that philosophy extends beyond client work. Whether I'm working through a financial requirement, writing an article, discussing a subject on television or exploring retirement through a book, the objective remains remarkably similar: to make finance easier to understand, engage with and use.

Writing. Media. Authorship. Education.

Writing and financial education have gradually become an important part of my professional journey.

My articles and columns explore personal finance through everyday situations and decisions. Through television, interviews, podcasts and videos, I engage with similar subjects in a more conversational format.

I'm also the author of The Second Half of Zindagi! — Your Guide to Financial Freedom, Purpose & Well-being in Your Retirement, a book that looks at retirement through both its financial and human dimensions.

Making finance more usable.

At the core, my work is about making finance more usable — whether the need is investment-related, tax-related, documentation-heavy, retirement-focused or educational.

The format may change — a client conversation, an article, a television discussion, a podcast or a book — but the purpose remains the same: to bring greater clarity to the financial decisions that form part of everyday life.
